Crime and Punishment is basically a thriller
On Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky
I put this off for years because it looked like homework. Then I started it on a sick day and I couldn't stop. You know who did the murder from the start, because you're inside his head while he does it. The tension comes from watching him fall apart afterwards, and from the conversations with the detective, who seems to know and won't say so.
