Things I noticed reading Little Women as an adult

On Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

As a kid I wanted to be Jo. Everyone wants to be Jo. Reading it again this year, I kept noticing Marmee, who admits at one point that she's angry nearly every day of her life and has spent forty years learning to hide it. I must have read straight past that line when I was eleven.

The sermons do get heavy, and the ending with Jo annoyed me then and it annoys me now. Still, I cried at the part you already know I cried at.
