Why a Khulna book club picked War and Peace, and how it went
On War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
There are four of us. We agreed on thirty pages a week, which comes out to about a year. I was sure we'd give up by Christmas.
We didn't, mostly because it's so much easier to read than its reputation. The chapters are short. Natasha at her first ball, the old prince and his geometry lessons, Pierre being an idiot at every turn. You can skip the essays on history near the end if you want to. Two of us did, and I won't say which ones.
